Bilboko Donejakue Katedrala, or the Cathedral of Santiago, stands in the center of Bilbao’s oldest quarter, identified by a soaring nineteenth-century neo-Gothic spire that rises above the surrounding historic buildings. Dedicated to Saint James the Great, the church functioned for centuries as a stop for pilgrims traveling the Northern Way of the Camino de Santiago.
