"Maman" de Louise Bourgeois

The bronze spider Maman stands over thirty feet tall, with long, spindly legs that form a cage-like structure against the sky. This sculpture by the artist Louise Bourgeois is a permanent installation. The work was created in nineteen ninety-nine and represents an arachnid in monumental scale, featuring a mesh sac cradled beneath its body that contains twenty-six marble eggs.
