Azkuna Zentroa-Alhóndiga Bilbao

cultural

Azkuna Zentroa occupies a massive, early twentieth-century brick structure that originally functioned as the municipal wine and oil warehouse. Designed by architect Ricardo Bastida and opened in nineteen oh nine, the building served as a commercial hub for six decades before falling into disuse. Its industrial history remains visible in the preserved exterior, while the interior space was completely reimagined by French designer Philippe Starck and reopened in twenty ten as a center for contemporary culture.
