Freibad Marzili sits directly along the banks of the Aare River, marked by its expansive green lawns and a clear view of the Federal Palace rising above the riverbank. This site has hosted public river bathing since seventeen eighty-two, when it was known as the Füfiweiher because admission cost five cents. It is one of the most frequented swimming areas in Switzerland, offering free access to the public.
