Bern City Hall

The Bern City Hall, known locally as the Rathaus, is a three-story sandstone building in the Old City of Bern. It is recognized by a symmetrical south facade centered on a prominent, open-air staircase and a loggia that serves as the main entrance. Built between fourteen oh six and fourteen seventeen, the structure was intended to demonstrate the city's growing power by providing a grand space to receive foreign dignitaries.
