Hanningtons Lane

Hanningtons Lane is marked by its narrow, pedestrian-only path lined with independent boutiques, green walls, and large-scale murals. This area was once the disused service yard for the Hanningtons department store, which occupied the site for nearly two centuries starting in eighteen oh eight. Known locally as the Harrods of Brighton, that store was a local institution that once provided everything from funeral arrangements to limousine hires across seventy different departments.
