Capurro’s Restaurant stands at four hundred ninety-eight Jefferson Street, identified by its location at the northern end of Fisherman’s Wharf. This restaurant began in nineteen forty-six as the Sausalito Cafe, a spot named for the ferry that once docked directly behind the building. In those early years, the neighborhood functioned primarily as a working port, and the cafe served as a morning gathering place for fishermen and ferry passengers.
