A vibrant tapestry of native California plants climbs the exterior of the Drew School’s assembly building on Broderick Street. Designed by the French botanist Patrick Blanc, this vertical garden stretches fifty feet wide across the facade of the school’s Cuddeback Wing. The installation functions as a living canvas, where thousands of plants grow directly onto a lightweight, moisture-retaining felt system rather than in traditional soil.
