The Presidio Officers' Club is anchored by thick adobe walls that date back to seventeen seventy-six, when Spanish colonists first established a military presence at the Golden Gate. These remnants of the original colonial settlement are encased within the building's front sections, serving as the earliest foundation for what would eventually become the most significant United States Army post on the West Coast.
