Latino Cultural District

The Latino Cultural District is marked by an dense concentration of murals and lowrider vehicles along a bustling, tree-lined stretch of 24th Street. Known locally as El Corazón de la Misión, or the Heart of the Mission, this area was formally designated by the San Francisco Board of Supervisors in two thousand fourteen. The recognition followed years of community organizing aimed at preserving the neighborhood's Latino heritage in the face of rising costs and displacement.
