The Redstone Building is identified by its facade of red common brick, which was laid in an English bond pattern when the structure was built in nineteen fourteen. Officially recognized as San Francisco landmark number two hundred thirty-eight, it was originally commissioned as the San Francisco Labor Temple to serve as a secure headquarters for the city’s labor unions.
