The MacArthur Tunnel is a one-thousand-three-hundred-foot-long concrete passage that carries State Route One through a hill in the Presidio. You can identify it by its stepped, reinforced-concrete entrances and the way the road dips beneath the Presidio Golf Course. It officially functions as part of the Presidio National Historic Landmark District.
