Propped against a retaining wall in the Fort Mason parking lot, a weathered, wooden ship's stern emerges from the structure. The name Galilee is still faintly visible, painted in fading letters across the transom. This fragment is all that remains on public display in San Francisco of a vessel once celebrated as the fastest sailing ship out of the city.
