The Long Now Foundation occupies a former military forge and machine shop within the Fort Mason Center for Arts and Culture. The foundation is recognizable by the industrial, open floor plan of its home, known as The Interval, which features a floor of original, weathered concrete and shelves lined with a crowd-curated library of thousands of books.
