The Rodriguez Cigar Factory, located on Fitzpatrick Street, operates as the oldest cigar manufacturer in the Florida Keys. The business traces its lineage to the La Finca de Carmencita plantation in the Las Villas province of Cuba, where the Rodriguez family cultivated tobacco starting in nineteen forty-seven. After the Cuban government nationalized their plantation, the family moved to Key West in nineteen seventy-one and eventually opened this factory in nineteen eighty-four.
