The Hemingway Home and Museum

The Ernest Hemingway Home and Museum is distinguished by its thick, native limestone walls and Spanish Colonial architecture, situated on the second-highest elevation on the island of Key West. Built in eighteen fifty-one by marine architect and salvage wrecker Asa Tift, the property served as the residence of novelist Ernest Hemingway and his second wife, Pauline Pfeiffer, from nineteen thirty-one through nineteen forty. It remains the largest residential property in Key West.
