The Pirates' House sits on East Broad Street, anchored by a small structure known as the Herb House, built in seventeen thirty-four. Originally constructed to house the gardener for the Trustees' Garden—an experimental site for crops like cotton and medicinal herbs—the land transitioned into a maritime hub as Savannah grew into a bustling port. By seventeen fifty-three, an inn appeared on the site, providing a refuge for sailors arriving from the Atlantic.
