Green-Meldrim House

The Green-Meldrim House is defined by its crenellated parapet and the heavy, intricate cast-iron portico at its entrance. Built in the early eighteen fifties for the wealthy cotton merchant Charles Green, this stuccoed brick villa is an example of Gothic Revival architecture. The house cost ninety-three thousand dollars to construct, making it the most expensive home in Savannah during the nineteenth century.
