Yamacraw Bluff rises as a high bank along the Savannah River, marked by a stone plaque set within a small park just west of City Hall. This site serves as the arrival point for General James Edward Oglethorpe, who landed here with one hundred and fourteen colonists on February twelfth, seventeen thirty-three, to establish the British colony of Georgia.
