Cluskey Vaults

The Cluskey Vaults are a set of five brick arches built directly into the bluff along the Drayton Street ramp. They appear as deep, cave-like openings tucked beneath the city's elevated street level. These structures date to eighteen forty, when the city commissioned the architect Charles Cluskey to construct retaining walls to prevent the bluff from eroding toward the river.
