Davenport House Museum Entrance and Shop

The Davenport House is a three-story Federal-style residence of imported brick, distinguished by its double staircase and ornamental railing overlooking Columbia Square. Built in eighteen twenty by master carpenter Isaiah Davenport, the house originally served as a private home for his family and the thirteen enslaved people who labored there. It remains one of the oldest brick structures in Savannah, reflecting the craftsmanship Davenport used to establish his reputation as a builder.
