The Creative Little Garden on East Sixth Street is defined by its iron gate, which opens into a narrow, lush space tucked between taller buildings. Unlike many city community plots divided into individual allotments, this site functions as a shared backyard where volunteers work together to manage the entire landscape. The garden took root on a vacant lot in nineteen seventy-eight, following the demolition of a tenement building that burned down earlier in the decade.
