Oregon Maritime Museum

The Oregon Maritime Museum is housed entirely aboard the Portland, a steam-powered sternwheel tugboat permanently moored at Tom McCall Waterfront Park. You can distinguish the vessel by its large Douglas-fir paddlewheel at the stern and its classic pilot house, which sit directly on the water of the Willamette River. Built in nineteen forty-seven by Northwest Marine Iron Works, the Portland was the final steam-powered tug of its kind constructed in the United States.
