Tilikum Crossing, Bridge of the People, is defined by its two slender, one-hundred-eighty-foot-tall pentagonal towers and a fan of white cables that support the deck across the Willamette River. Opened in September two thousand fifteen, it is the first major bridge in the United States designed to exclude private automobiles. Instead, it serves exclusively as a transit corridor for MAX light rail trains, buses, and the Portland Streetcar, alongside wide paths for pedestrians and cyclists.
