The original Di Bruno Bros. shop occupies a compact footprint of roughly three hundred square feet along the Ninth Street Italian Market. Established in nineteen thirty-nine by Italian immigrant brothers Danny and Joe Di Bruno, the store began as a modest neighborhood grocery selling bulk pasta, salami, and homemade vinegar to a community recovering from the Great Depression.
