White Point Garden

White Point Garden sits at the southern tip of the Charleston peninsula, defined by a collection of heavy Civil War-era cannons resting on the lawn beneath sprawling, shaded oak trees. Originally known as Oyster Point for the sun-bleached shells that once covered the shoreline, the area evolved into a permanent public park by the mid-nineteenth century. Its position at the confluence of the Ashley and Cooper rivers provides a direct view across the water to Fort Sumter.
