The Circular Congregational Church is marked by a distinctive, cloverleaf-shaped sanctuary built of brick in the Richardsonian Romanesque style. This is the third house of worship to stand on this site since the congregation formed in sixteen eighty-one. The original structure, known as the White Meeting House, was so central to the early city that it gave Meeting Street its name.
