Kayne Avenue yard

The Kayne Avenue yard is a long stretch of active railroad tracks cutting through the center of the Gulch neighborhood. You can identify it by the remaining steel rails and the frequent sound of freight trains passing through, a sharp contrast to the nearby glass-fronted restaurants and high-rise apartments. Once known as the Kayne Switchyard, this was a central hub for connecting passengers and goods throughout the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.
