Kinselas Hotel

Kinselas Hotel on Bourke Street is defined by its ornate Art Deco interiors and a sweeping porch that overlooks Taylor Square. The building features high, detailed ceilings that remain from its era as the headquarters of Charles Kinsela, an undertaker who occupied the premises starting in nineteen thirty-three. Architect C. Bruce Dellit, who is also known for the Hyde Park Anzac War Memorial, designed the funeral parlour and its chapel, incorporating lines and light fittings that reflected the aesthetic of the time.
