The Brightside is marked by a distinctive mural across its street-facing exterior and a neon-lit entrance on Warner Street. While it operates as a hub for metal, punk, and indie music, the building began its life in nineteen oh six as a Sunday school for the adjacent Presbyterian church. Over the decades, the site held several different dance and R&B clubs, including venues known as The Healer, Electric Playground, and Planet Nightclub.
