Shipwrights Arms Hotel

The Shipwrights Arms Hotel, known locally as Shippies, is a traditional corner pub in Battery Point that has operated in the same location since eighteen forty-six. You can identify the building by its classic, low-slung structure and the prominent blue door that serves as its main entrance. Constructed during the peak of Hobart’s maritime era, the hotel was designed to cater to the boat builders and laborers working at the nearby slipyards along the Derwent River.
