The Heading South sculpture, an ensemble of bronze figures on Franklin Wharf, marks Hobart as a historic gateway to the Antarctic. Created by local artist Stephen Walker, the installation includes two main bronze groupings, Seals and Penguins from nineteen ninety-eight and The Bernacchi Tribute from two thousand two, set along the waterfront between Victoria Dock and Macquarie Wharf.
