Victoria Dock

Victoria Dock is easily identified by the clusters of working fishing vessels and lobster pots that fill its harbor, set against the backdrop of the Derwent River. Built in eighteen ninety-one as an expansion of the city’s earlier maritime infrastructure, it serves as the home port for much of the Tasmanian commercial fishing fleet. The dock occupies a central position on the waterfront of Sullivans Cove, where it remains a hub for the local maritime industry.
