The Perth Mint, located at three hundred and ten Hay Street, is identifiable by its nineteenth-century neoclassical architecture. It opened in eighteen ninety-nine as the third and final branch of the British Royal Mint in Australia, established to refine the vast quantities of gold discovered in the nearby Coolgardie and Kalgoorlie regions.
