London Court

London Court is a four-level shopping arcade defined by its theatrical, mock-Tudor architecture, featuring half-timbered facades, leadlight windows, and elaborate wrought-iron gates at either end. Built in nineteen thirty-seven, the arcade replaces a series of narrow passages once known as Gun Alley. It was the vision of mining entrepreneur Claude de Bernales, who commissioned architect Bernard Evans to create an environment that felt like a slice of Elizabethan England. The arcade connects Hay Street Mall to Saint George's Terrace, providing a pedestrian passage through the heart of the city.
