The State War Memorial stands at the peak of Mount Eliza within Kings Park, recognizable by an eighteen-meter granite obelisk that serves as the site's primary monument. This cenotaph, which acts as a replica of memorials erected for the Australian Imperial Force in France and Belgium, was unveiled on November twenty-fourth, nineteen twenty-nine. Designed by General Sir J. Talbot Hobbs, the structure features a crypt and undercroft where marble tablets list over seven thousand service members who died during the First World War.
