State Theatre Centre of WA

The State Theatre Centre of Western Australia is distinguished by its rectilinear form and the gold-anodized aluminum tubes that drape over the interior staircase. Opened in twenty eleven, the ninety million dollar complex was designed by Kerry Hill Architects to provide a contemporary home for drama and dance in the Perth Cultural Centre. Because the site on the corner of Roe and William Streets was so small, the architects stacked the main performance spaces on top of one another to maximize the footprint.
