Perth Town Hall is identifiable by its Victorian Free Gothic design, characterized by pointed arches, a soaring clock tower, and red brickwork laid in a Flemish bond pattern. Situated at the corner of Hay and Barrack streets, it stands on the highest point in the city center. Officially opened on June first, eighteen seventy, it is the only town hall in Australia built by convict labor.
