The WA Museum Boola Bardip stands out for its bold contrast between nineteenth-century brick heritage buildings and sweeping, cantilevered golden wings of modern steel and glass. Located in the heart of Perth's Cultural Centre, the site was once a collection of separate historic structures, including the eighteen fifty-six Old Perth Gaol. Architects Hassell and OMA integrated these aging forms into a unified complex that opened in November twenty-twenty.
