Supreme Court Gardens

Supreme Court Gardens is defined by its expansive lawns and a perimeter of mature, semi-enclosed trees, situated near the banks of the Swan River in the heart of Perth. Long before this green space existed, the river water reached much further north, covering what is now the park. By the eighteen-eighties, the area was occupied by police stables and the Waterside Police Station. These utilitarian buildings were demolished in nineteen-oh-two to make way for the construction of the current Supreme Court building, leading to the reclamation of the river shallows.
