Weld Club

other

The Weld Club is identifiable by its corner tower and belvedere, which rise above a two-story structure of red brick and cement facings. Built in eighteen ninety-two, the building is a prominent example of Federation Queen Anne architecture, featuring wide verandas and extensive timber fretwork. It occupies a site on the corner of Barrack Street and The Esplanade, where it was designed to accommodate the meeting and social needs of Western Australia's colonial elite.
