The Museu da Gastronomia Baiana is marked by the Muralhas de Santa Catarina, which stand at its entrance as the oldest archaeological site in Salvador, dating back to the city's foundation. Inaugurated in August two thousand and six, this institution occupies a space within the Senac Pelourinho complex, located in the historic heart of the city.
