Praça da Inglaterra occupies a pair of city blocks in the Comércio neighborhood of Salvador, paved with traditional Portuguese stone and centered on a life-sized bronze statue of the politician José Joaquim Seabra. The plaza sits directly in front of the site of the former Morgado de Santa Bárbara, forming a transition point near the base of the Ladeira da Montanha.
