Sculpture: Dreaming by Jaume Plensa

A towering white portrait of a young woman with closed eyes, known colloquially as Lucia, rises three stories above the plaza at the Richmond-Adelaide Centre. This eight-and-a-half-meter sculpture, titled Dreaming, is the work of Spanish artist Jaume Plensa. Cast from a blend of white marble dust and resin, the piece possesses a smooth, luminous finish that creates a sharp contrast against the surrounding glass and steel of Toronto's Financial District.
