Dragon Beard Candy is a small shop located at fifty-two B Rue de la Gauchetière Ouest in Montreal’s Chinatown. The stall is known for the hand-pulled sugar confection produced by Johnny Chin, a former accountant who began selling the treat in nineteen ninety. The candy consists of thousands of ultra-thin sugar strands, which are folded and twisted until they reach eight thousand one hundred ninety-two threads before being wrapped around a center of ground peanuts, sesame seeds, chocolate, and coconut.
