The Palais d’Iéna stands out for its curved, imposing facade made entirely of reinforced concrete, a material chosen by architect Auguste Perret to showcase both technical and classical precision. Located at the edge of the sixteenth arrondissement, the building is defined by slender, fluted concrete columns that taper inward near their bases before flaring at the top. This structure, completed in stages between nineteen thirty-seven and nineteen forty-three, is one of three permanent buildings left in Paris from the nineteen thirty-seven International Exposition of Arts and Techniques of Modern Life.
