Equestrian statue of George Washington (Paris)

A bronze equestrian statue of George Washington stands at the center of the Place d'Iéna. The monument depicts Washington in full military uniform, his right hand raised with a sword while his left hand holds the horse's reins. It was a gift to France from the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution and was inaugurated on July third, nineteen hundred, one hundred and twenty-five years to the day after Washington took command of the Continental Army.
