Flame of Liberty

The Flame of Liberty stands as a three-and-a-half-meter-tall sculpture of a flame, covered in gold leaf and mounted on a pedestal of gray-and-black marble. It sits near the northern end of the Pont de l’Alma at the site now called Place Diana. This monument serves as a full-scale replica of the torch held by the Statue of Liberty in New York Harbor.
