Zouave (Pont de l'Alma)

The Zouave is a stone statue, five point two meters tall, depicting a French infantryman in a fez and baggy breeches. He stands alone on a pier at the Pont de l’Alma, the last survivor of four military sculptures installed in eighteen fifty-six to commemorate the victory at the Battle of the Alma during the Crimean War.
