Poche-Montparnasse Theatre

The Théâtre de Poche-Montparnasse sits at the end of a narrow, tucked-away passage accessible from seventy-five Boulevard du Montparnasse. Its name, which means pocket theatre, comes from the venue’s original capacity of just sixty seats when it opened in nineteen forty-three. Established by actor and director Marcel Oger during the German occupation of Paris, the theatre occupied a former café and quickly became a destination for experimental work.
